Halloween and other Fall Activities

Forgive me for the millions of photos I'm about to send your way, but that's what happens when I get behind in my blogging, which tends to happen when we're busy doing fun things and taking lots of cute photos!

A few weekends ago we took a little trip out to Del Oso Family Farms.  We skipped the corn mazes but enjoyed a hay ride and the petting zoo.

Last week Savannah, Caleb, and I joined up with some friends at a small pumpkin patch here in town.  Man, pumpkins just make for the CUTEST photos!

The next day Savannah and I carved her pumpkin into a Jack-O-Lantern.  Savannah thought it was icky and of course I ended up doing most of the work.

Halloween this year was centered around an idea I'd been storing in case I ever had a newborn son close to Halloween.  It made for a great costume for Matt and Caleb, but since I'm still stuck on doing family themes poor Savannah ended up being a cheerleader.  I made the kids' costumes this year and the cheer costume could easily double as a gladiator costume.  And Savannah just about refused to have anything to do with the pom pom I made her.  oh well.  (as I'm posting these pics I realize I don't have a picture of just Savannah dressed up, probably 1) because I didn't like the way her costume turned out, 2) she didn't like wearing it, and 3) it's hard to get her to pose these days)

We went to the Harvest Festival that our Church puts on every year.  Savannah was so overwhelmed by all the weird folks dressed up that she didn't even recognize that we were at the church!  She played some of the carnival games but her favorite activity by far was the bounce house.  "Look at me!  I'm jumping!!!!"

This past weekend my little sister, aka Auntie Rachel, came to visit!!!!  She got to experience first-hand a day in the life of the Marcus Clan.  She'll probably sleep for the next few days ;-)

And now for a quick update on  the fastest growing member of our family.  Smiles are few and far between because he still sleeps most of the time.  He does not love tummy time no matter how much mommy tries to convince him otherwise.  He doesn't snuggle on the chest much anymore but prefers to snuggle on his side, as if you were nursing him.  After several hours of fussiness in the evenings he sleeps well throughout the night, still waking about every three hours.  I'm not sure how much he weighs but I'm pretty sure he's HUGE.  He gets cuter and less "old-mannish" every day.

Well those babies were all born within just a few weeks of each other and finally got to meet!!!  I can't wait for them to grow up together!
