Our church held Vacation Bible School this past week. I helped out with crafts which meant Savannah got to go to the nursery each day. She was lucky enough to tag along with the 2yr/3yr old class which meant she got to participate with the program rather than just play with toys in the toddler/baby room. SHE HAD A BLAST!!!! She learned new songs (and dances...she LOVES to dance), heard Bible stories, "learned" Bible verses, and did crafts each day. Every morning as soon as we got to church she would run back to the nursery and into her classroom....most often into the arms of one of her many favorite teachers. At the end of the three hours it was difficult to pull her away from all the fun! Today I got a letter in the mail from her teachers:
Dear Savannah,
Thank you for coming everyday! Thank you for being such a good listener and being the first one to obey when asked to get our carpet squares for Bible Story and the First one to line up to go play outside! Thank you for working so hard to learn your Bible verses and for always praying with us.
We love you!
I'm not going to lie....I balled my eyes out while Matt read this letter out loud to me! I'm so proud of my social bug! She's such a good girl :)

Rodeo
Prepare yourself for an abundance of photos of THE CUTEST cowgirl in the West!!!! We endured the 106deg heat this weekend to attend the Livermore Rodeo and the Rodeo Parade. Matt searched all over town for reasonably priced little pink cowgirl boots for Savannah, but in the end we had to settle for the hat alone.
Savannah LOVED the parade! It was already 90deg by 10am so we flagged down the snow cone venders immediately. Savannah was not a fan, so mommy finished it for her :-)
Savannah loved watching the horses trot by, waving to the dancers and people riding on the floats, and especially loved dancing to the marching band music! We never need to worry about front row seats because mommy and daddy are both super tall!!
The rodeo is not something I need to go to every year, especially since it never fails to arrive on the hottest weekend of the season, but Matt really wanted us all to go, so I rested up beforehand and did my best to survive. Savannah really only wore her hat for photos because it was just too HOT!

Chuckwalla Track Day
This weekend we drove down to Chuckwalla Raceway, a couple hours south of Palm Springs. The desert. Where it is hot. VERY HOT. Hot enough to melt a pregnant woman, need I say more? We met our friends The Halls at the hotel in Indio. With five Hall kids running around, there is never a dull moment! We love it! Saturday morning, 6am, we drove an hour from the hotel (the closest amenity to the track) to the raceway. After a couple hours of prep Matt was ready to ride. Elisa, the kids, and I did our best to stay cool, hydrated, and entertained.
