One Month Already?!!!

Caleb turned 1 month this week!  He's still just a sleeping lump most of the time (or a fussy, screaming lump) but he is starting to smile and interact with his surroundings.  He will swat at the toys hanging from his play mat, as well as lift his head.  He can track my face as I move it side to side and he is starting to smile at the sound of my voice!

Caleb is 1 month!

The other big news around here is that MATT GOT A JOB!!!!!  He accepted a position at a company called Captora in Mountainview.  His first day was yesterday and he was SOOOO excited to go to work! The pay is good (we can pay the bills!!!) and commute (this seems to be everyone's first question) is not nearly as far as some of the places he interviewed.  We are so thankful for God's provision and for the lessons he has taught us through all our recent trials.  It's hard to believe it's been two and a half months since he was laid off.  I'm so proud of Matt for his diligence to find a new job and thankful for such a hard-working husband :-)

Last weekend we spent some much needed family-time outdoors.  We first went to Alden Lane Nursery for their Harvest Party.   We got to pet some pigs, bunnies, chickens, and goats, walk through a hay-bail maze, check out lots of pumpkins, and I even bought some broccoli plants for a winter garden!  Next we went to Joan's Pumpkine Patch where we got to feed goats, sheep, and chickens, and of course browse through more pumpkins.  Caleb slept in the front pack the whole time :-)
Savannah was excited to see pumpkins
Growing like a weed
There were lots of pumpkins just her size
Somebody refused to look at the camera
Catching a ride
Pumpkins are "this" way
She had no problem climbing UP....DOWN was another story
Daddy kept her captive in the tree until I got a good pic

Feeding the goats
Feeding the chickens
Once again she refused to looks at the camera
Later in the week I planted my broccoli garden!  Believe it or not, there are 6 tiny broccoli plants in that bed.
Broccoli garden!

That's it for now.  I'll try to get to that birth story before it becomes complete history!
