Has it really been over a week since I've given an update on this kid? I feel like I'm just trying to survive each day. I wish I had the energy to leave the house every day, but I am constantly reminding myself that I gave birth just over three weeks ago and that it takes time to recover. (BTW, I'm almost ready to recount my birth story...so check back in a day or two) Most days we stay home but we have ventured out a few times, just to the park or the grocery store for a few items.
Caleb is starting (just barely) to be more alert and interested in his surroundings. He still prefers to be held most of the time, but luckily he sleeps very well in his crib. I get good 3-hour (minimum) stretches between feedings at night and he's getting more efficient at eating so I'm getting more sleep (still not enough to function at my best, but enough that I shouldn't complain)
Honestly, my brain isn't even functioning well enough right now to recount the past week...so....here's some pictures. Enjoy!!!!

Handsome Dude (10/4)
Bath time is a fun time in the Marcus Clan household and Caleb now enjoys real baths (no more sponge baths!) Savannah wasn't too thrilled about seeing Caleb in HER cookie monster towel, but I took an opportunity to compare the two of them. Personally, I think Savvy looks like Matt with my nose and my forehead, and Caleb looks like me with Matt's nose and forehead. I think I'll try again in two weeks to get an even more similar pose.

Cookie Monster Savannah (5 weeks)
Our outing for the week involved going to the grocery store for a few essentials. I didn't have the energy to let Savannah "help" me push the cart so she rode in the child seat while Caleb rode inside the cart....leaving just enough space to pile a few items around Savannah. Please ignore the uncooperative pill who refused to open her eyes for a photo.
Our first shopping trip
Sleeping Chunkster
Our church held its annual garage sale over the weekend. I hung out with the kids while Matt helped pack up and haul away the leftover items. The best part was Savannah scored a few unsold dress-up clothes!!!!! Once again, please ignore her uncooperative diva expression.
Princess Savvy
Funny story of the week...trying to tame Savannah's wild hair! She's not a fan of pigtails (I think because it pulls uncomfortably on her head) but I tried it again anyways....and got the giant crocodile tears shown below!!! So then I tried pretty clips....also a no-go. Alas, we will be sporting the "finger-in-the-light-socket" hairdo for a while longer.
Savvy is not a fan of hair clips and pigtails!
Video of the week: Caleb is starting to wiggle his arms and legs around! I captured this cute video last night.
***After publishing this article I realized that every picture I posted of Savannah is of her being a pill and I didn't want to leave her painted as such. She's still doing very well adjusting to life as a big sister. She's a little short on attention but overall she's still as cute as ever....so here's a photo taken tonight to prove how fun she is. She was playing with her Noah's Ark and lined up the animals as shown and said they were "marching". Super cute.
Role playing with Noah's Ark
Savannah also now sings along to songs. I will try to capture it on video soon :)
